You have a very fine reputation in the Chicago Blues scene. I'm flattered to even be considered to do the artwork for the cover of your new CD. Looking forward to hearing from you.

I have seen Ruby Harris play in many venues, from a Brooklyn College Alternative basement concert to Carnegie Hall and Town Hall at Lincoln Center. He is one of the most exciting performers to experience live. Not only does he play the violin, but he also plays harmonica, guitar, banjo, mandolin and the fiddle. I think I may have seen him sneak in a tune on the piano. Ruby's performance is breathtaking. You can actually feel his emotions through his playing.

"Almost Home" is just a slice of Ruby's talent. It is a great blues album that has not left my CD changer since I got a copy. Classic and refreshing at the same time. I loved the original compositions, but my most favorite track was Ruby's breathtaking all violin assault on Jimi Hendrix's "Foxy Lady" (Jimi with Strings). A violin can sound just like a guitar and in Ruby's case, even better than a guitar.

There is one venue that I saw Ruby play in that I neglected to mention. His playing at that venue was awe-inspiring and beautiful. It was the El Caribe on February 15,1999. Ruby Harris played my entire wedding from the shmorg. the chupah and the dancing. I would not trust anybody else to play my wedding.

Keep up the AWESOME work!!!!!

"It was great you could come last week to Maxwell Street. You were great. Bravo!"
Now, if only more people would write or email the mayor to save Maxwell Street immediately, we'd all be in luck...

I do a blues radio show here in Australia and I plan to feature your CD "Almost Home" on an upcoming show. I picked it up at Jazz Record Mart. I really love your blues violin. Also, it would be great to have you visit down here sometime. The festival circuit is pretty vibrant.
